Take your filthy paws off my code, you damn dirty ape!
I admit, it’s no feat of intellect to defeat me in a competitive round of Mr. Elephant’s Matching Game, but can we not cater to this stereotype any longer? I thought we got past all this already?
According to Tetsuro Matsuzawa of Kyoto University:
“young chimpanzees at the age of 5 — have a better performance in a memory task than humans”
This may be an accurate statement when compared to some of us, myself included, who spend their entire lives glued to a mind numbing LCD screen flickering subliminal messages around the clock, but I’d like to see Ayumu remember how many times he’s been told not to fling his poo at passersby when these tests are over. And why are we researching such a thing to begin with? Am I seeing signs that the big companies are looking into our nearest cousins in the animal kingdom as possible replacements for my rich internet wonders? I wouldn’t put it past them.
No commentsLosing FaceBook?
Ok so FaceBook is flopping around like a wet flounder fresh out of the bay
Facebook: The canary in the social networking coal mine by ZDNet’s Dan Farber — Facebook has stirred up a great deal of controversy and now harsh criticism with its Beacon advertising program. Three weeks after launching Beacon Facebook, the company did a 180-degree turn to make it more palatable for users rather than advertisers. It still fell short of the total opt-in approach that some critics called for. Coke, one [...]
I won’t comment on this. What I do want to know though is, what’s up with the sandals? Ok FaceBook with your defiant pose, we see your Adidas sandals and sweet up-turned collar. Now, I’m not one who dresses to impress very often, accept for wild, after-hours business meetings…
No commentsApple’s QuickTime receiving secret security tutoring from Microsoft?
I just read this
Apple QuickTime under siege by ZDNet’s Ryan Naraine — Not counting silent (undocumented) fixes, Apple has patched at least 32 security flaws affecting QuickTime in 2007. Last year, the QuickTime patch count was 28. Five was documented in 2005. There’s no real end in sight…
It seems that Apple needs to spend less time watching movie trailers and start taking a page from Microsoft’s book on security. Wait no, I take that back. DON’T go with Microsoft’s tutorials if there’s such a thing!
Users clamoring again for an Internet Explorer 8 update by ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley — On the one-year anniversary of the launch Internet Explorer (IE) 7, the IE team posted yet another “stay tuned” message to the IE team blog, regarding an informational update on IE 8. And users are none too happy about the continued silence of the IE team.
No commentsYup, it’s the same guy who runs PXL Blog
I’ve been pretty jealous of all the things WordPress lets you do and the usability compared to Nucleus CMS, which I use for PXL Blog. Since this is my first post here, let me introduce myself. I’m Dave Flatley, the same guy who writes on PXL Blog, the same guy who runs PXL Designs, LLC. In fact, the same guy who created Attest 1.0 and AirSpace. Ok enough yakking about that.
Why did I start another blog?
Pretty simple, I love WordPress and I had to give myself and excuse to play with it. So I figured I’ll keep PXL Blog more (or less) professional and mainly about PXL Designs and RIA technologies we use, projects we’re working on etc. But this blog will be mine…….MINE DAMNIT!! I can write what I want here! It’s MINE!!
Sorry…but don’t look for professionalism here. Well maybe some, but although you might pick up some useful info on the RIA world, I’d much prefer to write about other things on this blog. Things like the Wrath of Dee Snyder or Steven Hawking…. or the vast difference between the two.
